Terms

When placing an order, you may pay using your Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover Card. Educational institutions and affiliated professionals may pay by either credit card or Purchase Order. Our terms to schools are net 30 days. When making a payment, please include our order number(s) covered by your payment.

Prices

Price changes may be necessary and will be made without prior notice. However, the prices displayed on the site at the time you submit your order electronically are valid and will not change. Transportation and insurance from Tonawanda, New York or San Luis Obispo, California are additional. They are calculated and added to your order total at check out. See Shipping.

Shipping

Your shipment will be sent by the most economical and efficient means, unless you specify a preferred carrier when you order. Shipping charges are calculated and added to your order as it is created ($8 minimum), refer to your shopping cart for actual shipping charge. Need Your Order ASAP? We use Federal Express®, Airborne Express® and UPS® air services. Please specify your special shipping requirements using the drop down box on the Delivery & Payment Options page of the checkout process. Express shipping charges will be calculated prior to checkout. Certain hazardous chemicals and items that are required to ship by motor freight may not be eligible to ship by air. You will notified prior to shipment if any of your items cannot be shipped via the method you specified.

Additional Shipping Charges

Some chemicals are subject to additional shipping costs due to Fedex® and UPS® hazardous materials surcharges. Live materials are shipped by 2nd day air and are subject to additional charges (minimum $5). Some items, due to extreme bulk or weight, are also subject to additional shipping charges. We will contact you prior to shipment for authorization of any additional shipping charges.

Damaged Merchandise

Please inspect your merchandise as soon as it arrives. Refer to the Inspection Report included with each shipment if anything appears to be damaged or missing. Materials delivered by motor freight or parcel service should be unpacked and inspected for damage upon delivery. Please notify us immediately if there is a problem with your order.

Returns

If you wish to return merchandise, please write or phone us for authorization. Returned merchandise will be accepted only in clean, resaleable condition and in its original packaging. A 10 percent restocking charge will be applied for merchandise returned more than 30 days from shipment date.

Free preview policy (Educational Institutions Only)

Our free preview policy gives you a full 30 days to review and test any of our products (with the exception of consumables and network versions of software) with no obligation. We even provide free shipping. This is an ideal way for you to make sure your science dollars are well spent and what you order is right for your class.

Customer Service

When writing or calling us about any order on which we have made a shipment, please refer to our order number which appears in the upper left-hand corner of each packing slip and invoice. If you do not have your order number available, please refer to your purchase order number and ship-to zip code.

Policies

Customer must be 18 years or older to purchase from Science Kit. By placing an order with Science Kit, you acknowledge and agree that you are 18 years or older and legally capable of entering into contracts.
