A Swell Acetylsalicylic Acid Synthesis
|
Product Information
Make aspirin with no headaches. Using salicyclic acid and acetic anhydride, students easily make aspirin with this hassle-free kit. They then calculate the percent yield of this reaction, determine the melting point of the synthesized aspirin and compare it to the melting point of pure laboratory grade aspirin. Note: the aspirin produced is not for consumption. Developed by Lisa Water. Includes instructions. Grades 10–AP.
