Activity: Exploring Launch Angle with Stomp Rockets - Science Kit


Materials Needed:

  • 1 Stomp Rocket
  • 1 Large Protractor
  • 1 Stopwatch
  • 1 Stompin' Science Manual


    Instructions:

    1. Decide how your group will prduct the SAME stomping force for each launch.
    2. Adjust the launching tube of the Stomp Rocket to one of the angles on your large protractor.
    3. Using the stopwatch, time the Stomp Rocket from the instant you stomp on the launching pad to when it hits the ground. Using a data table, record time, distance and launch angle of each trial.
    4. Compare results. How does the launch angle affect the Rocket's flight? Explore other activities with Stompin' Science manual.
