Product Information

Aspirin (acetysalicylic acid) is probably the most used and abused of non-prescription drugs. It can be used as a pain reliever and a fever reducer. It has also been shown that daily use can significantly reduce the risk of a coronary. In this lab activity, students determine the percentage of aspirin found in single tablet samples of aspirin they bring from home as well as that of the included “Brand X”. They also discover what other substances besides aspirin are in the tablets and calculate the cost per table.
