WARD’S Blood Spatter Analysis Kits
|
Product Information
Using WARD’S Simulated Blood, you can safely and realistically demonstrate blood spatter analysis techniques to your students. In Introduction to Blood Spatter Analysis, your students will investigate the relationship between the height blood is dropped from and the diameter of the drop on impact. They will also learn to recognize vertical blood drops on a variety of different textured surfaces and differentiate between high and medium velocity spatter such as from a gun shot or blunt force trauma. In Advanced Techniques in Blood Spatter Analysis, students will learn to recognize and analyze bloodstain patterns on a variety of surfaces. They will then be able to apply this knowledge to determine the sequence of events at a crime scene and the approximate position of the victim when blood exited the body. Both activities include enough materials for eight student groups, a teacher’s guide, and student copymaster. Simulated Blood Refills This Simulated Blood in bulk volumes can be used to stage your own crime scenes.

| I love activities that cross subject 'boundaries' like this. The kids were so excited about this activity that I used it in anatomy as well as forensic science. It involves physics, logical thinking, and is easily tied to anatomy (the circulatory system). The 'blood' is easily found at costume shops or Walmart (around Halloween), and you don't need much. It is great for working in groups, and you don't need access to a lab to do it; we did this in our classroom. This is a fun activity that gets all kids up out of their seats and actively engaged. |
