Students are able to use this unique kit to determine blood type — without blood. Most people (80 out of 100) have the Se gene. This gene produces a specific glycoprotein in body fluids which can be used to indicate A, B or O blood types. This kit allows students to check for the Se gene in their saliva and, if the gene is present, to type their blood. Includes materials for 30 students, one vial each Anti-A and Anti-B serum, 30 student study manuals, a return card for one vial each of A, B, and O red blood cells and Lectin H anti-serum and a comprehensive teacher’s guide. Note: A centrifuge and Pasteur pipets are required, but not included.
