Product Information

Appropriate for Grades 10-12

Teach students about the various techniques used to analyze urine.

Dr. Alan Gillen developed this physiology kit that contains enough reagents to produce 15 liters of simulated urine. Students test for pH as well as abnormal constituents such as albumin, glucose, ketones and microbes.
In performing the experiments, students discover the role of urinalysis in diagnosing and monitoring certain disorders.

Includes: glucose, peroxide, yeast, food coloring, pipets, pH strips, albumin, Benedict's solution, hydrochloric acid, potassium chloride, potassium phosphate, baking soda, urea, acetone and a teacher's guide with instructions, background information, questions and answers, and reproducible student worksheets.
