ScholAR Determination of the Enthalpy Change of a Chemical Reaction Lab Activity
|
Product Information
Aligned with AP Chemistry Lab #13
Using a combination of four chemical solutions and employing Hess’s Law, enthalpy of any one reaction can be calculated based on the observed data from the other two reactions. Students monitor the temperatures of the reactions in a calorimeter and analyze the data, calculating the enthalpy of each reaction and writing the net ionic equations. The experiment can be completed in approximately one hour and comes with enough materials for 15 setups. Fume hood recommended. Note: Additional shipping fee required. Chemical Contents:Ammonia Ammonium Chloride Hydrochloric Acid Sodium Hydroxide Additional Materials Required:Thermometers, ±0.1°C 100 mL Beakers 50 mL Graduated Cylinders Styrofoam Cups with Lids
