Determination of the Molecular Mass of a Liquid Lab Activity (ScholAR)
|
Product Information
Aligned with AP Chemistry Lab #3The Ideal Gas Law can be used to determine the molecular mass of a liquid by converting the liquid to a gas and measuring its volume, temperature, and pressure. The gas law will then allow the calculation of the number of moles of the chemical. The molecular mass can be determined by condensing the gas back to the liquid form and measuring the mass. Six different unknown volatile liquids are included and students can run multiple unknowns. Note: Additional shipping fee required. Chemical Contents:Acetone Ethyl Acetate Ethanol Isopropanol Methanol n-propanol Additional Materials Required:Analytical Balance 600 mL Beaker 125 mL Erlenmeyer Flask 250 mL Graduated Cylinder Hot Plate Ring Stand and Clamp Thermometer Tongs
