Dihybrid Cross in Yeast Activity
|
Product Information
Mendel’s Law of Independent Assortment is made easy. Dihybrid crosses can be complex and abstract in nature, but this activity allows students to perform a cross that clearly demonstrates the properties of dominant and recessive alleles, genotypic and phenotypic ratios, independent assortment, and F1 and F2 inheritance patterns on just two Petri plates. Students will first predict the results of the cross, then they will perform the cross using simple microbiological techniques, and will finally analyze the results. You will get a teacher’s guide, student copymaster, and enough materials for six lab groups. Note: a coupon is included for perishable materials. Redeem by mail, fax, phone, or email.
