Product Information

DNA is vulnerable to many types of environmental insults. One of the most common insults to human DNA results from exposure to ultraviolet light from the sun. In this experiment, plasmid DNA is intentionally damaged by exposure to short-wave ultraviolet light. Students will then apply samples to agarose gel electrophoresis to observe the damage done by ultraviolet light.
