Edvotek Ecological Equilibrium II: Impact on Fungi on the Environment
|
Product Information
Fungi play an important role in establishing ecological equilibrium. In the enviornment fungi play a key role in the degredation of dead animal and plant tissues. As with bacteria, fungi are ubiquitous in the environment and humans are continuously exposed to them. In the laboratory students will grow four different fungi, prepare slides and stain for morphological identification. As an optional field experiment, students will use samples of soil, leaves and mulch as sources for the isolation of fungi obtained from the enviornment.
