Product InformationThis simple device demonstrates the fundamentals of electrostatics and a pendulum. A clear tube with electrodes on either side suspends a pendulum ball at its center. The pendulum ball, when in contact with the electrode terminal on one side, collects the same polarity charge as the electrode and moves away from the electrode by repulsion. The opposing electrode is charged to the different polarity and the ball moves to the other side by attraction. This “round trip” process is repeated as long as current is generated across both electrodes. Size: 16cm L x 6cm dia. Note: Requires the Static GENECON or any static generator like a Van de Graaf or wimshurst machine to create the electrostatic charge necessary for operating the device. Tell a Friend about this item
