This dual purpose tool holds the end of the fiber optic probe of a digital spectrometer in front of the illuminated spectrum tube. This enables the probe to obtain the maximum amount of light from the tube through optimal positioning while it concurrently holds the probe end at a consistently safe distance from the tube surface
