Preferred by the military for its precision, durability, and accuracy, this compass is designed to take extremely accurate bearings for directing artillery fire.

This exceptional little device is shock-resistant and it can be used to locate terrain features or to follow a course over the ground.

It consists of the compass card with housing, the degree scale and rotating bezel, the sighting-wire top cover, a thumb hook for holding the compass steady, and a lens with a dial graduated in 0–360° in 5° increments and 6,400mils in 20mil increments.

The compass will work with USGS topographical maps, so you can use it for orienteering, however, you’ll need a protrator to do so.

Includes detailed instructions. Compass is not waterproof.
