Product Information
This kit combines chemistry, mathematics, history and culture while reinforcing students’ measurement, graphing and scientific inquiry skills. Students begin by taking a baby carrot which they measure, weigh and observe. After recording their data, they build aluminum-lined sarcophagus and bury their mummies in a mxiture of baking soda and salt that is similar to what the Eqyptians used to remove moisture from bodies. After a week students remove the now mummified carrots, wrap them in gauze and coat them with resin. Developed by Ken Koga Moriuchi. Includes materials for 10 student groups and instructions. Grades 3–8.
