Digital Imaging Technology made affordable!
Our Boreal Digital Microscopes feature the USB "plug and play" computer connection. All you have to do is plug them in, turn them on and instantly, large, full-color video of the specimen being studied is delivered to your computer monitor so your entire class can see it.
The Inclined Stereoscope model (recommended for elementary student use) features 1x and 3x objectives and adjustable 10x eyepieces.
The Boreal Digital SKope (mounted on our best-selling Boreal SKope) and comes with 4x and 10x, and 40x objectives and an adjustable 10x eyepiece. Both models use a built-in CCD camera that provides clear, sharp images.
The student-friendly software (on CD-ROM) allows you and your students to capture and save images of specimens to your computer. Students can manipulate images, print them out, even create fun multimedia science presentations with titles, music and voice over.
We recommend using our Mechanical Stage (55842-00) with the Boreal Digital SKope for easier viewing of specimens at higher magnifications. Both models come with a 68-page set-up and operation manual that explains how to get started and how to get the most out of your Digital Microscope.
Minimum requirements: PC: Windows 98 or above, Mac: OS9.x, USB 1.0, 1.1 or 2.0 installed (some USB 2.0 cards may not be compatible), minimum 64 MB RAM (128 MB RAM recommended).
