Product Information

Examine the chemistry of life with these exciting kits. In Kit 1, students determine protoplasm composition; test for proteins, carbohydrates, fats and protein digestion by pepsin; develop methods of determining ascorbic acid concentration; and test the pH of nutrients. Kit 2 allows students to conduct 10 living matter experiments (each can be repeated 20 times). The investigations include: food analysis for starch, sugar, lipids, pH protein, and amino acids; the enzyme mechanisms of digestion; the digestion process in humans; detection of vitamin C; and chromatography separation. Both kits include materials for 24 students and a teacher’s guide with lab lesson plans.
