Product Information

This light source and set of filters was specially designed for use with the QA Spectroscope but will find many uses in physics, chemistry, and earth science laboratories.

A set of five plastic filters and a clear plastic cuvette supplied with the light box are used to study the absorption spectra of colors and solutions.

The filters absorb the following regions of the spectrum:
*Green Wavelengths Greater than 6000
*Green Wavelengths Less than 5000
*Blue Wavelengths Greater than 5900
*Red Wavelengths Less than 6200 A
*Orange Wavelengths Less than 5600 A
*Yellow Wavelengths Less than 5000

Each of the filters is 5 cm square. A colorless filter, 2.5 cm x 5 cm, is supplied so that a continuous reference spectrum can be produced below the absorption spectrum. The light source measures 18 cm x 11 cm x 11 cm and operates on 120V, AC.

The unit has an on/off switch and a 1.8 meter grounded cord. The light source, filters, and plastic cuvette, together with an excellent set of Instructions and Laboratory Suggestions, are included.
