Product Information
What’s the difference between isometric and orthorhombic crystal shapes? What kind of crystals does potassium chromate leave? Working with a lab partner, students find out by preparing seven different slides, each containing two samples of a different salt solution. When the solutions evaporate they will leave crystals on each slide. Students then study these crystals under magnification, comparing and contrasting the crystalline properties of each and sketching their shapes. Includes materials for 30 students, instructions and background information on crystal structure and growth. Note: Stereomicroscopes are required for observation but are not included.
