Kids Carry These Around All Year

Kids love doing arts and crafts, and can't believe that this counts as a science activity! Making these helices really help the kids understand that A matches up with T, C with G, and that sugar and phosphate alternate up the 'backbone' of DNA. After they make their keychains, zipper pulls, earrings, whatever they choose to attach it to, I see these attached to book bags, pencil pouches, and keychains all year long. The kids really enjoy it---even the boys! Once you buy the kit, you just need to keep buying replacement beads (easy to find at discount stores) and you can go for years. . .
