Scholar Mole In The Bag Inquiry Demonstration Activity Kit

Product Information
How big is a Mole? Why is a mole of copper weigh more than a mole of sulfur? Answer these questions while introducing the concept of a mole and its importance in chemistry with this demonstration. Bags containing a mole of several elements and compounds are available to examine, weigh, and explore. Use the mini bags to demonstrate fractions of a mole, then bring the bags out again to demonstrate the relationship between moles and molar solutions. This is a great teaching aid for introducing moles, Avogadro’s number, gram molecular weight, and molarity.
Another idea with this kit is to set up lab stations around the classroom with different amounts of each substance in a plastic bag. Have students then identify using a balance the weight in the bag and calculate the number of moles of the element in the bag. 5 different element samples are provided. Another kit, Molarity and Concentration in the Bag Inquiry Demonstration (9400223) is similar in that it deals with molar solutions, dilutions and the calculations involved.
