Molecular Motion Demonstrator
|
Product Information
Investigate the random motion of molecules. Explore the diffusion of gases and Brownian motion. Review Boyle’s Law and Charles’ Law. Discover states of matter and the properties of liquids, gases and solids. Simply use this apparatus with an overhead projector to show your entire class the types of movements that can occur as a result of temperature, pressure or volume changes. The demonstrator vibrates different-sized balls on a glass plate, simulating molecular movement and action under various circumstances. A control knob allows you to adjust the vibration speed to show effects of temperature changes. In addition, the barriers are helpful in demonstrating diffusion and confinement, and a glass dish helps you compare molecular motion in solids and liquids. This unit operates on 120 VAC. Includes: five different types of balls (to represent different molecules), a disk (to represent a smoke particle), instructions, and lessons for 11 experiments. Note: An overhead projector is required but not included. Please see our Multimedia section for overhead projectors.
