Product Information
Explore the fascinating symbiotic relationship between the bacterium Rhizobium and leguminous plants. Rhizobium converts atmospheric nitrogen into a form plants can use as fertilizer. Students grow beans with and without Rhizobium then test for nitrogen content after several weeks. Further investigation is made by preparing microscopy slides of the bacteria found in the root nodule. Includes freeze-dried Rhizobium mixture and instructions for 10 student groups.
