The Octagon was designed to provide precise and easy control for the incubation of small quantities of eggs. It has a capacity of 9-12 goose eggs, 24 hen eggs and 60 quail eggs. With autoturn cradle installed, the Octagon measures 40.5 cm wide x 23.5 cm deep x 28.0 cm high and weighs 2.2 lbs. Power requirements are 230V 50Hz or 115V 60Hz. The Egg-Lume candle measures 17.5 cm long x 5.0 cm diameter.
The Egg Story lesson book includes 15 hands-on activities that help students study incubation and embryonic development. Topics covered include reading wet and dry bulb thermometers, the structure of an egg, the hen's reproductive system, how a chick develops day by day during incubation and more. Develops observation, data collection, analysis and record keeping, measuring, critical listening and other essential skills.
