It can be used to display numerous principles of physics such as gravitational and magnetic forces, friction, and chaos in an uncluttered, elegantly simple way.
More than a basic pendulum, it swings in 2-dimensions and adds magnets which can be freely arranged to attract or repel the magnet on the pendulum.
Because the fields created by the magnets act like hills and valleys, the pendulum darts and dodges through the fields during each pass over the &"playing&" field.
