Every pellet in these innovative kits is manufactured. The appearance is realistic, but the skeleton contents are replicas and pellets themselves were not produced by owls, therefore they containing no organic materials. Safe and sterile, the pellets are all consistent in size and shape with the bones for a complete skelton enclosed. Students can then fully reconstruct the skeleton to identify the owl’s prey. And, when you pass out the pellets, you know what the contents are, so you can better test student knowledge. Three types of pellets are offered — mole, rodent, and bird. The Classroom Kit contains 15 large perfect pellets (five of each kind), a teacher’s guide with skull keys, guide, and background information; and five posters, including food web, rodent skelton, mole skelton, bird skeleton, and bone sorting chart. The Deluxe Kit includes 30 large perfect pellets (10 of each kind); the teacher’s guide; all five posters offered with the Classroom Kit, plus a human/vole comparison chart; and 15 bone sorting charts for individual student use. Perfect pellets are also available separately in packages of 15 — five of each kind.
