Product Information
In this 2-part demo, a laser beam is shot through an empty prism, a prism filled with water, and a prism filled with Karo® syrup, demonstrating the relative indices of refraction between three substances.
In the second part of the demo, a negative slit slide is placed in a slide projector and projected through a prism resulting in a spectacular rainbow illustrating the dispersive prism effect and chromatic aberration in lenses. Sweet! Developed by John B. Johnston, Director of The Faraday Center. Grades 11-12.
Includes: negative slit, slide mount, 2 acrylic prisms,
instructions. Required but not included: laser, slide projector.
