Product Information
Determine the index of refraction. Essentially a re-creation of Thomas Young’s classical investigation into the nature of light, here a laser is shot through diffraction grating and through an acrylic box half-filled with water. The dots that appear on the strip of paper or screen behind the box clearly demonstrate the phenomena of constructive and destructive interference. Developed by John B. Johnston, Director of The Faraday Center. Includes acrylic box, diffraction grating, and instructions. Laser required, but not included. Grades 11–12. Size: 28.5 x 28.5 x 6cm.
