Product Information The Archimedes balance is a graduated cylinder with an additional tube that floats in water in the cylinder. Objects or liquid samples placed in the floating tube displace the water level upward. The difference in readings is the mass of the sample! In this lab, students measure the density, mass and volume of solids and liquids, perform an investigation of floatation, discover the idea of density as a mathematical concept and more.
