Chemical Activation of an Electric Fan
|
Product Information
Demonstrate the transformation of energy from one form to another with this dramatic activity. In this experiment, the potential difference (voltage) between two metals and the number of electrons (the current) formed is sufficient to activate the electric motor of the propeller on the electric fan device. The more deeply the magnesium electrode is immersed in the solution, the more magnesium atoms react, releasing more electrons and increasing the speed of the propeller. Includes: container of HC1 and KC1 solution, electric fan device, 8 magnesium coils, emery paper, demo pad. Needed but not included: scissors.
