Product Information

Rugged enough for student use, these single-beam units are suitable for virtually all general colorimetric and spectrophotometric applications. Both the analog and the digital models feature a solid state detector and a simple filter selection lever.
Analog ranges are 0-100% T and 0-2 A. Digital ranges are 0-100% T, 0-1.95 A, 0-1999 C, and 0.1-1000 factor. In addition, the detector provides continuous wavelength range from 340-950 nm, readable to 1.0 nm with an accuracy of ± 2.5 nm near 525 nm. There is no need to adjust for 0%T; simply turn the instrument on and it is ready to read the sample. An accessory filter keeps stray light at less than 0.5% T, providing reliable readings. Each unit requires 120V, AC, 60 Hz for operation.
Includes: 12 cuvettes (13 mm), 13 mm sample adapter, dust cover and instruction manual. An optional Data Interface (at right) can be used to connect either unit to an Apple computer. (The digital model has a built-in RS-232 serial interface for connection to most PCs).
Other optional accessories include a lab manual (with experiments covering absorption spectra, the Beer-Lamber Law, colorimetric properties and photometric titration), square cuvettes (parallel sides allow light to pass without refraction), and 19 mm diameter cuvettes. (Please note: The 19 mm cuvette adapter requires a light shield, and the infrared filter must be used with the phototube.)
PASCO's PASPORT line includes software that allows you to collect and analyze data directly from your Spec 20 to conduct more precise colorimetric and spectrophotometric measurements. For more information, [sk%:click here][br%:click here].
Please note - models made before 1986 require an adapter for the square cuvette holder. Please call our Customer Service department for information.
