Textbook pictures can help students visualize concepts, but they cannot provide a 3-D view. Geoblox models provide a multi-learning approach to helping students understand a concept or a structure from the inside out as they build their own models. These models also provide opportunities for developing higher order thinking skills, as students are asked to draw diagrams of their models before building them. Each set of model patterns is comb bound and can be used as a copymaster to produce enough for your entire class or enlarged to use as demonstration models.

Topographic Landform Models Set#1, 30 Models:
The 30 topographic maps of landforms each feature a description, sketch, instructions, and two higher-order thinking questions. Cardboard and building supplies are not included. Models include atoll, emergent highland coast, estuary, sea stacks, spit, submarine canyon, tombolo, drumlins, eskers, iceberg, alluvial fan, badlands, butte, playa lake, cinder cone, entrenched meander, exfoliation dome, flood basalt, volcanic plug, earth dam, impact crater, karst, stair step topography, alpine glacier, cirque lake, horn, dendritic drainage, entrenched meanders, levees, meanders scars, and a waterfall.

Topographic Landform Models Set#2, 20 Models:
Providing the same features as Models Set #1, these 20 models include a fjord, Ria coastline, truncated headland, bajada, inselberg, natural bridge, cut and fill (before and after), anticlinal mountain, continental divide, escarpment, water gap, wind gap, braided stream, delta, radial drainage, springs, stream piracy, terraced rivers, and trellis drainage.

About Geoblox: Geoblox reproducible block models, developed by Earth Science teacher John Koonz, were designed to supplement topics in Life and Earth Sciences, providing each student with their own three-dimensional display of the structures and concepts most commonly discussed in class.
These models are especially useful for students with tactile and visual learning styles.
Models are easily assembled by middle and high school students. Merely copy the detailed model plans onto cardstock and distribute them to your students. Students color the models, then cut them out using either scissors or X-acto knives. Tabs are folded along the dotted lines and glued into place.
By seeing various landforms and biological structures in three-dimensions, students may have an easier time understanding how they develop and function. Models can also be copied to a transparency and enlarged, creating an oversized model for permanent classroom display.
Each page features a model complete with instructions for construction.
Subjects covered include botany, topography, plate tectonics, geology, and oceanography.
