Challenging games help students discover the elements.
This program begins with a general introduction to the chemical elements after which students are challenged to play a game in which they must identify elements based on their appearances and on spoken word cues.
The purpose of this game is to build student skills of observation, note-taking and use of reference data. The game can also be played in teams which promotes cooperation and group discussion. The exact rules are flexible allowing you to match the game to the skill level of the players. Contains 2 segments – 25 and 36 minutes. Grades 6–9.
