Product Information

Using this kit, students learn what a transformer is, why we need them and how they work. Students are encouraged to identify transformers in day to day activities. Kit contains all the parts required to assemble a simple transformer. The five coils provided allow the student to build 20 different configurations, including step up and step down transformers. Students design various transformers by applying values to the supplied transformer equation, then build the transformer they design and use it to verify the results. Includes iron laminated transformer frame and armature, five coils (300, 450, 600, 750, 900 turns), 120 VAC to 5 VAC power supply, and 15 VAC volt meter.
