|
Product Information
The Electricity for the Future video begins by clearly demonstrating how dependent we are on electricity in our homes and workplaces. Students will see how a generator works and explore the pros and cons of nonrenewable and renewable sources of electricity. Following the program, students should be able to list the steps involved in the generation of electricty and be able to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of generating electricity from a variety of resources. The included teacher's guide provides pre- and post-viewing activities. Electricity for the Future is part of the five program Physical Science Series which uses real life applications, investigations and interactive questions, models and animations, humorous skits, historical sketches, and filmed experiments to illuminate the scientific concepts being covered. Each program uses standards aligned lessons that will fit all physical science curricula from grades 5 to 9. Young host-narrators make the presentations more attractive to students. Runtime: 20 minutes.
