This unique vessel has a side access tube with membrane screw top to allow change of or addition to growth medium without disturbing the contents. Potential contamination and root and tissue damage is reduced as many different stages of plant tissue culture can now be completed in one vessel without the necessity of transferring tissue from one vessel to another. Nutrient and oxygen uptake is improved because tissue is supported on a floating explant holder that keeps the tissue in constant contact with the medium.
The Growtek(TM) vessel's size is small enough to work with many vessels at one time on a bench top 10 cm in diameter and 15 cm high (4 x 6"). The lid has an inward slope to minimize condensation and is designed to be stacked for efficient incubation. The vessel is molded of clear polycarbonate with a polypropylene screw cap, and all parts are autoclavable at 121°C (250°F).
