Weather Water Tanks: Weather Fronts & Ocean Currents (Teacher-Developed, Classroom-Tested)
|
Product Information
When cold air masses and warm air masses meet, they do not mix, instead a front is formed at their boundary. At this boundary weather disturbances can occur. When the Labrador Current, a cold current and the Gulf Stream, a warm current meet at the Outerbanks of North Carolina, what happens? The weather water tank developed by Vennie Heibel, demonstrates that fluids of different densities do not mix. Includes materials for six student groups, a teacher’s guide with reproducible student labs, and food coloring. Grades 4–12.
