Product Information Explaining magnetic field lines become actual measurements of field strength when students use our Magnetic Field Sensor. Just place the tip of the probe at the desired location and students immediately get an accurate measurement of magnetic field strength. Our Magnetic Field Sensor offers broad sensitivity in a single range from -1000 to +1000 gauss. Typical Applications: Study the field strength of bar magnets and electromagnets Examine the field strength of a solenoid Measure the field strength of a Helmholtz coil Measure the field strength of Earth's magnetic field Specifications and Special Features: -1000 to +1000 gauss ± 3% at 25 °C (after 4 minute warm-up) 0.01 gauss resolution Measures magnetic field along axis of probe Molded plastic protects the sensing element for enhanced durability Displays in gauss and millitesla Use PASCO's Linear Motion Accessory with the Magnetic Field Sensor, Rotary Motion Sensor (77001-38), and field coils to graph magnetic field strength versus position.
