Product Information The Hollow Globe consists of a 10.2cm diameter globe mounted on a non-conductive rod and base. To use the globe, simply connect one end of a lead wire to the discharge connection of an electrostatic generator and clip the other end to the edge of the globe. The purpose of the activity is to determine if the charge from an electrostatic generator will reside on the inside or outside surface of a conductor, in this case, a hollow copper sphere. Testing for the presence of charge on the inside of the sphere can be made through the opening at the top of the globe.  Tell a Friend about this item
