Product Information This hand-cranked model of a Van de Graaf generator is a cordless, turn-key device that creates static electricity demonstrations at which your students can marvel. Simply set the generator on a lab table, start cranking and you can demonstrate the "electric whirl" as the vanes spin around faster and faster as more electricity is produced, or the "electric plume," consisting of colored streamers that fly apart as each strand acquires the same electrical charge. You can use the 16" (40.6cm) long discharge wand to draw out a spark from the generator's highly polished aluminum globe. The generator measures 28" (71.1cm) high and can potentially produce 300,00 volts. Includes an instruction booklet with suggested experiments. Tell a Friend about this item
