Product Information

Appropriate for Grades 9-12
Students will use a PASCO relative pressure sensor as a potometer to measure the rate of water uptake in plants due to transpiration. This activity will demonstrate the concept of "transpiration pull." In addition, the investigation will explore the effects of environmental factors (air movement) on the rate of transpiration. This activity can be completed in one 50-minute lab session.
Includes instructions. Requires 1 sensor and 1 USB Link or 1 Xplorer Datalogger for each group of students. If your computer does not have 2 USB ports, then you will need a USB 4-Port Hub.
