Product Information
Students will be guided step-by-step through every aspect of capturing and converting wind power into energy with this fully functioning miniature windmill kit. At wind speeds of up to 12 mph, this windmill will produce approximately 3.0V/50mA plus.
Users will observe how recycled plastic S-foil wind blades are capable of capturing wind from any direction, as opposed to horizontal wind blades. After building an alternator that uses magnetic induction to produce an electrical current, students can watch as voltage switches from positive to negative, indicated by alternating red and green LED lights. The top and base of the turbine are built from high quality craft wood and coated with premium enamel to help protect it from the outdoor elements.
Ideal for science fair projects, classroom demonstrations, and at-home teaching. While this kit can be easily built and safely operated by children ages 10 and up, it is fully capable of demonstrating the advanced scientific principles of alternative energy, magnetic induction, alternating current, and aerodynamic principles covered in many high school and undergraduate science classes.
Includes
recycled plastic s-foils and blades four ceramic grade-five magnets pre-wound copper coils
