Product Information

Perform Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) using solvents with different mixture ratios, to determine which works best as the mobile phase to isolate a sample of universal indicator.

The next step in the demo involves conducting column chromatography to separate the various dyes in universal indicator. Next, students use TLC test the purity of a dye that has been isolated through column chromotagraphy.

Each of the two activities requires approximately 45 minutes. Includes instructions and materials for six demonstrations.
