This exploration of the properties of light and color was designed for pre-K to grade 3 students. They use the rainbow disk to see that even the most ordinary source of &"white light&" is actually filled with all the colors of the rainbow, how the name roy g biv can help them remember the colors of the spectrum, how we can use filters to create new colors or to &"filter out&" others, gain an understanding of how scientists use spectrum analysis to identify elements and more. Instructions are written in a simple, child friendly style.
Classroom Kit Includes: 10 rainbow disks, 10 blue and yellow filters, activity instruction cards and teacher notes. Everything comes neatly packaged in a convenient, reusable plastic storage bin with snap-lid. Individual Kit (shown) includes 2 rainbow diffraction grating, 1 yellow and 1 blue plastic filter and instructions.
