Product InformationAn abacus-like device that shows students how sine waves are added together, illustrating concepts of constructive and destructive interference, musical overtones, and alternating current theory.A basic sine wave, produced by a combination of colored beads and straws, is supported on steel rods in a free-standing hardwood frame. The basic sine wave extends over two-and-a-half wavelengths. Two separate plexiglass sine wave profiles slide into the frame and add to the basic wave. The larger profile is of identical wavelength and amplitude as the basic wave; the smaller profile has twice the frequency and half the amplitude of the basic wave. Overall dimensions are 77 cm (W) x 32 cm (H) x 7 cm (D). Instructions are included. Tell a Friend about this item
