How long is each day of the year? Students will be able to answer these questions for themselves when they construct their own models. Fantastically Cool!

I use these in the introductory astronomy class I teach each semester. This is one of the most popular manipulatives the students use. It seems a bit hokey, but they love having something they can bring home and explain to their families. I use the teacher model to present the lesson, and when they make their own, they feel like they got something for their tuition fee.A brilliant, simple and tangible tool to help explain part of the perspective necessary to see our home planet from "off site".
