Home > Strike Slip Fault Model
|
Product Information
On April 18, 1906 sudden displacement along the San Andreas fault caused the great San Francisco earthquake and fire. Now you can bring this classic example of a “strike/slip” fault into your classroom, demonstrating movement and resulting effects of transform boundary plate structures. Mix the supplied sand with some water, place it in the clear plastic tank, and slide the two halves of the tank in opposite directions. Students will easily see the deformation of sediments on the fault as the “plates” move. Includes user’s guide. Tank is 30 x 22 x 4 cm. Base is 40 x 30 cm.
