Product Information
If you put a jar on the table and ask your students, "What's in it?" would they tell you that the jar was empty? The correct answer is air is in the jar, and both air and water "take up space." Using everyday items such as syringes, squeeze bottles, straws, and balloons provided, the activities in this lab demonstrate the forces produced by air and water. You'll be amazed how many hands-on activities your students can perform in this lab (such as building syringe bottle rockets to learn about air and water pressure) designed by California science teacher Sandy Yaras. This kit includes materials for 7 lab stations, appropriate for 7th to 10th grade. Includes: one- and two-hole rubber stoppers, squeeze bottles, rigid tubing, flexible straws, regular straws, balloons, golf balls, ping pong balls, 3 x 5 index cards, food coloring, plastic funnel, pie pans, masking tape, flexible tubing, 10 and 60 cc syringes, metric rulers, dispensing bottles, disposable pipettes, booklet, and complete instructions. You can also order the “Taking Up Space” booklet separately.
