Taking Up Space

Product Information
If you put a jar on the table and ask your students, “What’s in it?” would they tell you that the jar was empty? The correct answer is air is in the jar. Using everyday items such as syringes, squeeze bottles, straws, and balloons provided, the activities in this lab demonstrate the forces produced by air and water and demonstrate that both air and water “take up space.” Designed by science teacher Sandy Yaras, this kit leads students through a variety of hands-on activities. Includes an instruction booklet; additional copies also sold separately. Grades 7–10.
